The current combo I am using in my DXers Dream Computer is especially potent. The article Jim references doesn't obviously tweak the bios settings as I see a better DPC performance with the Haswell CPU/motherboard than I could get with the Ivy bridge CPU.
I am using the i7-4770 with the Asrock Z87 Pro4 motherboard.
