Hi, I am going to return my new Flex 6500 which has been out of the box for only two days. It just falls short of my MARS needs in so many ways, that I can't use it. Perhaps in coming months things will change as newer versions of SmartSDR and radio firmware are released, but perhaps not. But waiting months also means I can't return it to Flex Radio for a refund. I have no interest in listing my disappointments in SmartSDR and the radio. The main purpose of posting, is I had the thought there might be some people who are on a waiting list for months and months to get a Flex 6500 and are eager to get one, and perhaps Flex Radio would be happier if I just sold it to someone else instead of returning it for a refund. There's nothing technically wrong with the radio, it's just that the software does not currently yield the functionality that I need today. The only change I have made is to put Anderson power pole connectors on the power cord so I can plug it into my Rig Runner.
