I support this kind of effort insofar as the target is "What is wrong 
with PowerSDR
and what should we be doing for BeppeSDR?".   We have quite a few 
architectural
things that we have got to clean up that will never impact what button 
or meter we
have.  We have things that are actively interfering with each other in 
the code.  We
do need to clean that up in the 1.4.X series or at least get a complete 
understanding
to move forward.

With that understanding,  I believe this is a really great idea.
