I believe that I had this problem in the past.   It turned out to be related to the audio cable connections.   It was intermittent as you describe.   I would suggest that you check ADC L and ADC R levels on your meter to verify that they are within a few db. If not, you probably have a problem with one of your cables. Try unplugging and then replugging the cables into the SDR.  I found that I had to use gold plated cables to get a reliable connection. Others have had better success by avoiding gold plated cables. The plug configuration may be to blame.   Good luck! Craig KC2LFI
