Greg,

Adding to Jose's post, the installation instructions for using the SDR-1000
with third party softwared can be found at www.hamsdr.com/dnld.aspx?id=31 or
at my website http://btracy.com/sdr1k. The document is in pdf format and is
titled "Third Party Installation". So far, HRD is the only program
specifically rewritten for use with the SDR-1000. Almost all others will
work using one of the Kenwood emulations. You can choose the emulation to
use on the Setup|CAT Control tab of the PowerSDR software. Pick the one
that runs the fastest with your software but not the SDR-1000 emulation
unless you are running HRD.

I have not specifically tested the CAT code with Logic 7.

Subject: [Flexradio] A couple questions from a new--old--SDR1K user

Ordered a new SDR today and wondering if someone could provide some
additional info.

I understand there is a virtual com port feature now that can be used to
link with various logging programs. But most logging programs I have seen
do not have the SDR1K as an option. Does it work as some other
protocol....i.e....Kenwood? I recall Elecraft works when selecting Kenwood
and wondering if it is the same with the SDR. My logging system is Logic 7.

2nd question....

Has anyone interfaced the control box for a SteppIR yagi or vertical with
the SDR through the virtual COM port or by some other means? And does this
require use of a native COM port and can a USB/Serial converter be used?

Looking forward to the new radio....again..hihi.

73 and thanks
Greg - AB7R
