Eric,
I found the AM problem. The preamp was set on High instead of Medium.
I didn't notice it, Sorry. AM and SAM are now ok, it must have been that
one of the two close AM stations was overloading the front end. So far
everything else seems to be working fine.

Upon downloading 1.4.5 I find that AM and SAM have a lot of audio
distortion. This occurs at all input levels. AGC settings do not seem to
have an effect. SSB seems ok and DSB seems ok. I have not looked further
into the problem. This is with the Santa Cruz audio card and the original
three board stack..
