Hugh
I have been using my SDR1000 for EME and Meteor Scatter (see Testimonials)
since July, 2003 with excellent results. At first I only used the Rx capability
of the original 3 board set, transmitting with my trusty OLD TenTec Corsair (S/N
666) until I qualified the SDR Tx output power level and built the present
computer.

Since moving to my new QTH in July of 2004, I have used the SDR1000 exclusively
as the 28 MHz IF for my home brew 144, 432 and DEMI 1296 and 10 GHz
transverters. I run both CW and WSJT on EME.

So far, I have been able to make at least one QSO every time I get a chance to
operate EME. The station here is QRO on 144 and soon on 432. I have been
"temporarily" using a single K1FO 12 element antenna on 2 Meters, mounted 30'
above ground on my ROVER trailer with no elevation rotation. Until I can get
some towers to grow so I can erect my 8x or 16x arrays, it is good enough for
EME, MS and Tropo work, with a tower mounted CAV144 preamp. Feed Line is 25λ,
LMR 600F. Antenna elevation here is 990' ASL with nothing higher for 30 to 50
miles in all directions, and with the antenna so near ground, I get SIGNIFICANT
ground gain at moon elevations of 9° to 22°.
