Title: RE: [Flexradio] C for SDR?

Jeff,

The majority of the folks that do development for the PowerSDR software use Visual Studio .NET 2003.  This allows us to use a single solution to compile multiple projects in multiple languages (C, C++, C#).

Some of the folks that just want to tinker with the code without having to shell out the big bucks for MS software are using SharpDevelop which is a free compiler for C# (I think it will do C/C++ as well).  It takes some work to get the SharpDevelop project setup, but you only have to do this once.

If you’re going to use the VS.NET 2003 IDE, I’ll be happy to help you get setup.  SharpDevelop is another story since I only got as far as downloading and installing it (never actually used it).

Subject: [Flexradio] C for SDR?

Season's Greetings to the list!

Being a software-defined radio, the SDR1K is a great platform for experimentation, which is something I'd very much like to do, but it's been a VERY long time since I last wrote C code (and that was with Borland's C).

What is the recommended software and development environment for SDR1K programming, and (even more important) is there anyone who could mentor me along with respect to getting the environment/tools properly set up?

Many thanks, and 73,
