Hello, I am new to this group, and I have been spending some time lately studying the SDR-1000, Flex Radio, and software defined radios in general. I have to say that I am amazed at the global commitment made by radio amateurs around the world to software defined radios including the SDR-1000. I hope that eventually I can get to the point where I can follow your in depth discussions in totally.
I have been giving serious consideration to the purchase of a SDR-1000, and I was wondering if there are any 100 watt HF amplifier options for this radio, other than the one that Flex Radio provides? The reason that I ask this is because the Flex HF amplifier does not cover 6 meters. In correspondence with Eric at Flex I was told that there simply was not enough space inside the radio case to provide 6M support without degrading performance on other bands. That is a perfectly logical and good explanation, but I was hoping that there was a way to get higher power out of this radio at 6 meters with an integrated approach. Are there other 100 Watt HF amplifier options for this radio that would include 6 meter support? Possibly this would be an external amplifier that could cover all of the bands. Thanks for any information that you can provide. I have been running the PowreSDR software with wave file demos recently .............. WOW! Mark Ericksen AD4MA Clearwater, Fl [EMAIL PROTECTED]
