Per FCC rules, such an amp cannot be commercially produced. The rules state
a minimum of 50w drive. Those rules are now up for review per the FCC's
decision.

have you looked at the Tokyo Hy-Power offerings?

If you're interested, send them an email ([EMAIL PROTECTED]), and you'll get
an answer back in <24 hrs with what the current dollar price is, and
ordering instructions. They'll take most credit cards, and it's shipped
right to you.

These are fairly popular with the FT-817 crowd (especially the 50W HL-50B,
which has been discontinued in favor of the 100W unit). I know a couple
people who are very happy with them. They're well made, etc. Lots of eham
reviews too.
