My guess is the problem lays between the sound card and the radio, AKA the cables that connect the 2. Check to see that the plugs are plugged in all the way, and that there is not some trouble in the 1/8 jacks. This sounds silly but it fits your symptoms and time frame (worked one day, did not work after I disconnected it and reconnected it, worked at the flex shop)
