I can't tell you how relieved I am to have 1.6.0 out; two months late,
but out.
I want to give you a developer's viewpoint on how we got here. It
included hard work by Eric, Frank,Bob T, John B., Bill, Phil H others on
the code or the design of it. Without this crew it would not be
possible. However, we have been SEVERELY hampered by the lack of tools
to make this easy, until this year. The year 2005 into early 2006 will
absolutely be forever in my mind
"The Year of the Dale"
Entire large civilizations celebrate the year of Dog, Horse, Cat, Snake,
Dragon, etc. but I will forever celebrate this as the year of the Dale.
The positive impact of having Dale Boresz doing hamsdr, svn, and the bug
tracking cannot be sufficiently emphasized in an email. His
quiet,selfless, indefatigable approach to problem solving and his
administrative skills in delivering these tools are not to be
underestimated any time soon.
We had no source control revision and no bug tracking devices until the
last few months. In my mind, they are the single organizational tools
that took us over the top and allowed us to organize our work in an
orderly fashion with check boxes to check.
Thank you Dale. I hope that everyone who enjoys this code or enjoys
trying to make the broken pieces better thanks Dale for his work.
