[Flexradio] OT: Radio or storm?

My radio receive performance seems to have dropped off a cliff in the last 2 
days. 
Last week from idaho I was listening to puerto rico talk to japan on 17m, now 
it's just noise.
Could this be due to the magnetic storm or did my crimp connections on the loop 
flake out? I am new to radio so comments appreciated.
