Decided to swap computers and put the D44 in another computer. Seems the USB controller on the old one liked some devices and not others. I have the radio working and made a cw qso on it. Now to fine tune the settings and calibration. I am still not sure about the cw latency. I am wondering if the folks who use cw mainly are using external keyers for the instant sidetone generation because that is the only way it feels comfortable to me. Using the internal keyer the sidetone doesn't seem to track as close as I would like it. Maybe connecting to the serial port would work better, I have been told it does work better, just not sure if they were talking about the sidetone issue.
