Sorry but, considering where I've been over the last three months I have to
write this. I've been struggling with high SWR until today. Now I'm at 1.1:1.
I'm using insulated 12 gage copper wire, a 1:1 balun and RJ 213 and was letting
the antenna section of the inverted V rest on or just touch tree branches.
That's after lots of measuring, repositioning for different angles and cutting
and reattaching wire to the ends of the antennas. Once I found clear paths the
SWR dropped to the above number. I also built a ground from 3/4 inch copper
water pipe and ran it into the shack up to the radio. I live in Woodland Hills
with special notice on woodland.
