Hi, One use of the main and sub receivers is listening on the main to a DX station and listening and transmitting on the sub, if the DX station is using split. A key to this use is the ability to set the bandwidth of the main and sub receivers independently which you can't do through SVN 689. You set the main to a narrow filter to copy the DX station and set the sub to a wider filter to copy the competition and the station the DX station is working. Then using split, you TX on VFO B. A similar setup is used working contests. Carl, N4PY built this feature into his Pegasus program, when using the K2. The K2 by design does not have the bandwidth go with the VFOs, but Carl's program does. You need to control the bandwidth of the VFO A and B receivers independently.
I have trouble copying VFO A if the VFO B signal is much stronger than VFO A signal. You can easily change the gain of VFO A receiver, but not VFO B receiver. You can do it by turning up the RF gain and reducing the AF gain. It would be better if you could control the gain of VFO B and VFO A receivers independently. If there is some agreement and if I am not missing something, I will submit an enhancement request. 73, Chas, W1CG _______________________________________________ FlexRadio mailing list FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archive Link: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ FlexRadio Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com
