Brian,
There is an input on the SDR-1000 X-2 auxiliary connector which is for
muting the receiver while transmitting with another transmitter or other
such optional operation. I am using this input to mute the receiver when I
use my foot switch to key another transceiver.
This is not designed to put the SDR-1000 into a full standby state but
mutes the receiver only so that when un-grounding this input the receiver
immediately returns to full panadapter display and receiver input.
I designed a small plug-in board which mates with the X-2 auxiliary
connector on the SDR-1000 which provides this input, an input for an
external foot or hand PPT switch and an optically-isolated FET driver for
switching a Linear Amplifier.
