I'm getting used to 701(working fine). Should I try something higher? If so
where can I get a copy?

Bonjour José:

I hope this is more light than heat!

We have always been open to others having their own branches to do
experimentation under the flex svn server maintained for us by Dale.
John Eckert, K2OX, has begun an experimental branch to take alternative
approaches to several things. This is not unlike Jeff Andersen did
before. John has chosen to use our server, while Jeff did not. We
have "consumed" Jeff's great ideas into the current console and it has,
in my opinion, provided us with a much better console. We did not
follow Jeff's prescription exactly, we mined it for good ideas and did
our own implementations and added a couple of other goodies (watch
receivers, etc). Eric has done a great job in interpreting Jeff's
vision while "making it his own" in terms of code he would like to support.

We do not want to have to fight in the code with everyone that wants to
do their own experiments. Thus the branch makes all our lives easier.
This is very common in these open source developments. The "main code"
has been and will continue to be under the trunk directory. John is a
"newbie" to svn. Just like we ALL were when this started. Remember
when there was open rebellion because we were not going to give away
"early updates" any more? In fact, svn has made that so much easier and
better it has caused us to learn that we are separated by our
experience level in these areas and the lead developers need to do a
better job of communicating the intent rather than just saying the
technical words. John made a mistake. He accidentally overwrote the
trunk with half of his experimental code. We were very lucky to have
svn. It allowed first Eric to restore the binary and then me to restore
all of the source code through a sequence of tricky little moves which
included deletion of the offending code and/or directories and adding
the correct versions back.

Eric is away on some personal business right now so I took it upon
myself to help him. I hope I succeeded!

Bob
