Try not to set the low cutoff on the transmit tab lower than 50 Hz. Lower is annoying to most who can hear it. SSB cannot legally be 'broadcast quality' within 3.5kHz band pass. The only exception to the above is the use of "split-spectrum processing". There the audio is split into lower, medium and high frequency bands and the differing amounts of compression and companding applied to each before mixing.
