Larry,
I almost always run an amplifier.  What I'm gonna try is running the X2 delay 
at 50 and see what happens.  Maybe that will provide just enough of a transient 
of some kind to keep things alive.  Fortunately it only happens once in a great 
while. We'll see ehat happens.  If it happens agn I'm gonna see what else can 
possibly bring things back button wise.  I think the preamp switch activation 
may be telling us something.

  As far as I can tell, this is a classic "desense" kind of problem.  I have
  observed it from time to time as well.  The cures were along the lines you
  give.  Basically, anything that "resets" the receiver code seems to work.

  It was especially prevelant when I ran my external amplifier.
