You are aware that if your cabling is picking up noise or there are ground loops in your setup, they will not go away by turning off the SDR-1000 (which really doesn't turns it off). Noise can also be picked up on the mike cable with the microphone disconnected.
Is the mike connected to the sound card directly or is it going through the SDR-1000? You have not mentioned the nature of the noise which makes it hard to guess here. If the noise is hum or a raspy hum then ground loops are being a problem and a trip to Radio Shack to purchase a pair of audio isolation units may do the trick for you, if the noise is something else then you are going to do a little detective work to find it's source. If it's the software others should be noticing the problem also, any other recent complaints?
