I'll look for some Vista drivers too, BUT. This reminds me of an important point we need to make loud and clear to the Flex-folks. A significant number of us have bought into the SDR because blends the computer world with the radio world and not visa-versa. Twenty years ago I left amateur radio because it wasn't going anywhere very fast. In fact, the flood of highly compact foreign radios with poor receivers took all the fun out of tinkering and individualizing a radio to perfection and took ham radio down into the appliance world which wasn't interesting to me. Then, both computer hardware and software were taking off and that's where many of us tech types went. The Flex-folks re-made the connection of technology, radios and tinkering at a price and in a way that encouraged me to come back and take another look and feel. What I saw and felt made a lot of sense. With my high speed, up-to-date, latest and greatest computers, I could buy an SDR1000 like I would buy a modem, disk drive, motherboard or new monitor, add it on, and be back into amateur radio, cheaply, with none of the deficiencies that caused me to leave 20 years ago. I'm just trying to remind the Flex-folks that many of us don't like the all-in-one-box solution (though the majority of present hams may). We like to mix and match and above all, we like to tinker with everything. If they take those options away, many of us may look elsewhere - where? I don't know yet, but if they feel that an all-in-one box is a necessary solution, please keep mix and match open in a modular option too. We don't mind struggling with Vista or Linux or newer processors. We just want that option. - Jerry -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
