Subject: [Flexradio] SDR-101 - Transition to Virtual

One might consider 'Transition to Virtual' as another topic. The SDR
concept is discussed all over the bands every day. And one consistent
comment is, "I wish they would make it 'look' more like a radio".
Wouldn't an optional, detachable front panel work here. While far less
flexible, it still will give comfort to the 90% of operators that just
will not buy a radio without rigid knobs buttons, switches and flashing
lights. Most of the optics could stay virtual and the computer needs to
be hidden, but somehow, even the thought of being able to buy an
optional detachable panel with an array of switches and knobs may be
enough to manage the transition from the rigid definitive to the
flexible virtual.
