My thoughts are similar. I wish to diddle with audio shaping/clipping/compressing etc. without having to loop it out through analog to get it into the system. I doubt that flex is intentionally preventing us from experimenting with audio processing in the digital domain. I haven't gotten to the code yet (just beginning to find my way around) but I suspect that there may be as little as a single line of code that blocks the mic on vac.
On the other hand, I just don't understand windows default handling of the audio stream yet. I have a feeling that I am dealing with Microsoft and govt. take of "we know what you want better than you do!".
