There is no "if the decision stands". It has been put into the Federal Register. It is now the law until it is overturned. Believe me, this was MUCH worse until many in our community (Flex, Gnu, ARRL, etc.) gave them input. The D/A thing mentioned was just absolutely beyond insane and thus they make some hoo-haa about dropping it. I hope everyone now understands the absolutely IRON CLAD requirement for the firmware in the Flex-5000, its closed nature, its clever use of eCos 2.0 (FSF approved license) to implement the rules we knew were coming.
