It may be confusing as we have done it, but w9ol's problem is not caused 
by the equalizer.

The equalizer is left enabled on the form but in the CW, DIGL, DIGU, and 
DRM, it is simply not applied on TX or RX.  This is easily seen in the 
code by looking at sdr.c and the routine do_tx_pre.  In this routine, in 
the case of DIGL, DIGU, and DRM,  the meters are calculated but the 
processing (leveler, equalizer, etc.) are NOT applied in the sdr.  This 
was done to prevent having to remember to turn it back on.
