David,

I believe the facility you are looking for already exists in PowerSDR. You
will need a UCB board, or build something similar, to take advantage of it.

In PowerSDR, go to Setup/Ext. Ctrl. There you can define which pins of the
X2 connector you want exerted on a per-band and receive/transmit basis. You
can use that to then control whatever you wish.

The full blown UCB kit is available from Phil Theis, K3TUF, at
http://k3tuf.com/UCB.html . I have built Phil's UCB kit, and will tell you
he did a very nice job of it. I have also designed and built my own version,
and while it doesn't look nearly as nice, it works much the same. Phil's kit
will give you up to 16 different relays, that are all completely
programmable with PowerSDR.

If you wish to control several different relays on the same band, then you
might use the transverter option of PowerSDR, defining the same band on
different buttons, with different X2 pin outputs. Thus, you might have 4
different buttons defined for 80 meters, each one giving a different relay
closure at the remote site to switch in a different beverage, or whatever
you wish.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [Flexradio] Remote operating

Hi all - I wish to select my beverages and other relay operated items from
my remote location - has anyone written a program similar to the SDR 1K
where a matrix is selected and the output is directed to the RS 232 port or
possible the parallell port - to switch a transistor and subsequently a
relay.. Many thanks de Dave G3RCQ
