I suspect my 5000A is the same way. I can't run the 5000 more than 30 to 50 
watts drive output on SSB (depending on the band) without tripping the very 
fast acting overdrive protection on my Tokyo Hi Power HL-1.5KFX. With 
continuous carrier tests, I can drive my amp to full output without a 
problem.I'm just waiting for a flexwire ALC accessory.
