Birdies are pretty well controlled EXCEPT for 14.295. I like to get in on the OMIK net on Sunday mornings and it's always a battle. I also have the FA-66, and the OCXO instead of the stock oscillator. Doesn't help 14.295.

Early experimental tries replaced a DC to DC converter on one of the boards, but I'm not that adventurous.

Subject: [Flexradio] birdies on my sdr-1000

I fired up my sdr-1000 today and had several contacts on 20 meters. I moved up the band and at 14.295 to apx 14.305 had 20 over spikes, all over, about 20 kc apart. Below these frequencies or above ....no problem. Each spike presented a 20+ high pitch signal. The problem was the same with the ant disconnected or connected. Iam using a Edirol FA-66 and the latest power sdr software version.

This is the first time I noticed the problem, although it could have been there for a while, don't work 20 that much. I looked thru the KB, and didn't find a lot of info about this,or maybe looked in the wrong part. I was able to borrow a 5000 today ,hooked to the entire same computer as the 1000 ...no such problems, every thin worked just fine. That would tend to make me belive that the FA-66 may be a contributing factor?

My 1000 was one of the last units built, so it had all the latest changes for the 1000. I would really like to resolve or at least control these spikes. Are these problems just inherent to the sdr-1000 or do I have a problem with the rig or possible settings ,via the power sdr? All my settings are by the sdr-1000 manual, including the FA-66.

Sure would be grateful for any info or direction with this problem, thanks for reading.
