Frank,
MacOS is on the screen and you have a Flex 5000 there. How are you
running the F5K with MacOS? None of the virtualization packages (I
know of) support firewire.
Yep. OS X is on the screen because I was back into "normal" mode: I
had finished the tests with Windows XP and had booted OS X again.
Unfortunately you're right. None of the virtualization packages allow
for FireWire connections. But: There is an unofficial release of a Mac
OS X Flex Driver for which I have built a library to drive it. Eric
Wachsmann of Flex-Radio Systems provided some base code and I extended
it and ported it to OS X. I do have a working test program that can
control a Flex device (such as the Flex-5000 and Flex-3000) directly
from OS X.

I am currently trying to figure out how to combine this new library
with sdr-core and a shell to have a fully working app on OS X. It's
just the GUI that's missing ...
Happy Easter !
