For those weak signal DXers out there, what AGC settings are you finding effective for the high dynamic gain requirements encountered on 6M? Does it change with the NB on? Just starting to use my 5000 and also starting to get the first 6M openings of the year and I have found that the NB appears to have the same weakness as all traditional radios. Reducing AGC appeared to reduce some of the grunge from strong in-band signals, but am I reducing my ability to receive weak signals? I am currently using the ARR FET preamp, but have ordered the GASFET version since it has better strong signal handling capabilities.

For those not familiar with the RX requirements on 6M, signals can range from below the -140dbm noise floor (for EME signals) to 60+ DB over S9. K6MYC is line of site to me with almost 150,000W ERP. It is not uncommon during openings to experience both extremes during band openings.
