That is only for the 28 MHz IF (@ 0 dBm) not the 144/440 MHz IF that the V/U
Module can supply.

Jim
Yes there is a low power transverter port on the back of the 5000 that I use
with my 222 transverter. Can't remember the exact power, maybe a mw, but it is
there and works just fine.

Flex Guys
I have read the specs on the Flex 5000 U/V upgrade. This was one of the major
reasons I purchased my 5000 which I received 12/2007 with the intent of using
it with external microwave transverters. This radio has been great fun and a
never ending adventure to own. In the past When asked, Gerald mentioned that
there would be a low power transverter drive output. The website mentions that
it can be used with external transverters but "requires power attenuation".
Will there at least be an internal low power tap point or internal jumper to
reduce power for us who are only interested in using the 5000 with external
transverters without having to heat up an external attenuator? I realize the
power will be adjustable but it's a risky thing to do, especially when the
power level adjuasment is software controlled, not to mention the danger of
possible latency in that circuit causing a power spike when keyed.
