Perhaps I have done what you suggest and perhaps I am not happy with with the internal keyer perhaps because of my heavily overloaded older laptop. Since I may have access to a Palm Paddle Code Cube keyer, I was simply asking for information to decide if this would be a good keyer to compare the internal keyer to. Right now I am comparing the FLEX internal keyer to the keyer in my K2 which I like. On the other hand, one might ask why I don't just use my Vibroplex bug that I got when I got my Extra back in 1974 or so. Now if I would just learn to type decently, perhaps keyboard cw would be the way to go. And then there is the old straight key...

To answer your question, of course I tried the internal keyer and not all keyers work exactly the the same. That's what is so great about this hobby.

Results?

I am probably missing something (I don't use CW very often) but why wouldn't you just plug the paddle directly into the radio and use the keyer in PowerSDR?
