The issue was that the mic gain was set at 10 which was not high enough for the Heil microphone. The mic is plugged into the balanced input on the rear of the radio. I turned the mic gain up to 38 and all is well.
And, contacts can actually hear me clearly now WD7W Jim -----Original Message----- From: Tim Ellison [mailto:telli...@itsco.com] Sent: Thursday, June 18, 2009 4:23 AM To: Jim; flexradio@flex-radio.biz Subject: RE: [Flexradio] monitoring not working for me When MOX is pressed, what is the AF Gain setting showing? You may have the MON gain turned down too low. -Tim -----Original Message----- From: flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz [mailto:flexradio-boun...@flex-radio.biz] On Behalf Of Jim Sent: Wednesday, June 17, 2009 11:34 PM To: flexradio@flex-radio.biz Subject: [Flexradio] monitoring not working for me I'm sure it is a setting I'm missing. I have MON selected and when I press ATU I can hear the cw tone in my headphones plugged into the front of the radio. However, if I press MOX with MON still on and transmit I hear nothing in the head phones, even though though I can make contacts. Any thoughts as to what I might be doing wrong?
