I put my 5K in a cabinet with the power supply just to hide the not-so-little LRL. (I didn't really do it for that purpose, but hey - it fits the story line)

Using the rear-panel balanced mic input and having the radio fan and linear PS mechanical hum all bottled up is a good thing. I need to improve the ventilation in the cabinet, so in the meantime I leave the cabinet door open when I'm operating.

Now if someone could come up with a way to silence my hybrid threshing machine and jet aircraft (oops, I meant Alpha 77) I'd be ecstatic. :-)

For what it's worth, the Flex 5000A continues to be the centerpiece of my renewed interest in amateur radio. Good job.

Jim, N7CXI
