Thanks for the heads-up guys, I'm glad to know it's not an isolated event....

I'm going to make up a small manual pre-selector and see how that goes, as I'd
like to use the rig on LW as well as the bcb....
I rcvd an ICE high pass filter that makes a world of difference in the noise
floor above 3Mhz, and when I finish the initial cabling I'll do some screen
caps to show the difference....
I actually don't mind needing a preamp on 6m, as I'm putting one at the antenna
shortly.

My preliminary tests A-B with my 706IIG show a difference of ~10dB favoring the
ICOM ( with 706 preamp on ).
I didn;t go farther into testing as I was concerned about the gain drop being
due to the cables....

More later.... 73...Jordan VE6ZT

  Jordan,
In reference to your AGC comments, I have observed exactly the same behavior
as I use the AM mode frequently. There is a bug report, 2240, that addresses
this issue. It was introduced in 1.18.1 and I sure hope it gets fixed as it is
quite annoying and a step backwards for AM reception.
