Finally my new
StarTech PCI1394MP PCI FireWire Adapter Card - 4 Port $33.99
and installed it in the Asus M2A74-AM motherboard. (see earlier thread)
It did not make a difference. I am still getting long DPC and hangups on PWRSDR.
Then I read a note that the TI chipset driver needed patch
WindowsXP-KB958149-x86-ENU.exe (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/958149)
I installed the patch but it made my system useless. (be aware!!)
I will have to restore and try something else....
Looking for any suggestions... (specially from Neil)
