I use QRZ, Buck..etc lookup all the time from DX Suite of programs. What is nice is that you can click on a spot, the logger is populated, DXView is populated and PathFinder is populated and of course the radio is correctly set. From PathFinder I look up the call on QRZ, or Buck, or... FCC, or Google it, or ...etc.

I like how easy it is to log to both LoTW and eQSL.

Try the dxlab yahoogroups.com to see what the problem is with the lookup being grayed out. Dave is amazingly quick at helping, but someone else might have the answer for you as well.

Im still yet to find a logging program that has cat control (frequency/mode/power etc) that is any good. Ive tried DX Commander etc (PASS - dosnt have QRZ.com lookups, the button is greyed out??) and I cant find any that are as good as the HRD logger.. I just wont run that because I find it stupid to run HRD just to use the logger..

anyone got any suggestions?

Remember that from the viewpoint of external software, such as DX Commander,
the real radio is PowerSDR. It does not matter which hardware platform
PowerSDR is controlling. Therefore, the SDR-1000 setting applies equally
well to the FLEX-3000 & FLEX-5000.
