I too use the smaller Logitech wireless mouse and love it. (VX Revolution).
The "free wheel" option was made for the flex. :-)

I just ordered a Logitech "wireless laser mouse for lefties" for two of my
children. It's the first time I've seen one of their advanced mice designed
for left-handed use. I don't know if it has the "free-wheel" option.

I am left handed...I write left handed but mouse with my right handed.

I send cw right handed which means that I can keep my pen in my left hand
and write without letting go of the key. That is very useful
