Bob, I couldn't agree more about having one solid ground. For years I had issues with lightning striking the ground and finding its way to my ground radial system. There was a difference of potential between my home's safety ground and the antenna ground. That difference was accentuated during electrical storms. Once I tied the two systems together all the issues were resolved. The common connection also helped with both transmit and receive signals as well as RFI.
