John,

I experienced the same issue. I wanted the arrow keys between the standard
keyboard and the number pad to be used for tuning. Although defining functions
to the arrow keys is allowed, it does not work. Actually, I want just the arrow
up/down keys to be use for going up/down by 10 and ideally use the number
key-pad for going up/down by 1000, 100, and 10. As you notice I want 10 to be
in 2 different places. This would allow tuning up/down in a crowded areas
during contests (pouncing) without moving hands away from the keyboard. The
mouse would be used to jump around greater distances. I want to use the left
and right arrow keys for RIT with the center button toggling RIT on/off (or
moving it to zero.. I'm not sure which would be better at this time), this
would help in contests or round-tables by reduce the need to mouse to RIT,
which I find very cumbersome.

The above is the reason I suggested using key-stroke capture method for
assigning hot-keys to the functions as opposed to the existing programmer
restricted method (i.e. what I want vs. what someone else thinks I want). The
Key-stroke capture would allow any key, or key-combination
(<Ctrl>,<Alt>,<shift>) to be used while giving the user maximum flexibility to
tailor the system to their needs.

Subject: [Flexradio] Use of keyboard for tuning...

With focus on pSDR, the default keyboard letters QWERTYU (raising
frequency) and ASDFGHJ (lowering frequency) work as advertised.

However, if I select one of the arrow keys, say "up" (middle keypad), in
place of, say, "R" (for incrementing frequency by kHz steps) the result
is not (is?) as expected...it is not the frequency that is incremented
but the position of the edit cursor in the frequency window.

That is, even though the arrow keys are advertised as available for the
function of inc/dec frequency, they are already dedicated to another
function, apparently inextricably. Am I in error here? Or, should the
arrow keys be removed from the list of available inc/dec frequency
keyboard function?
