Jeff,
I have written my own HRD in Java - its purpose is primarily to control
automatic tuners like the Palstar AT AUTO or LDG AT200PC, but it also
controls many model radios and the LDG DTS-6 coax switch. I added s
TCP/IP socket server interface and coded it so that DM780 and Logbook
both think they are talking to HRD, but they are really talking to my
software. I also added a button to start up Logbook. My software
resides in the Yahoo group for the Palstar AT AUTO - in the files
section. However, I do not see how my software is better than HRD for
your situation - it shines in controlling tuners along with some radios
(including the Flex). It does show the functionality you'd like to have
incorporated into PowerSDR.
So, I think what you are asking for is for PowerSDR to have a HRD-like
TCP/IP server to make DM780 and Logbook think PowerSDR is Ham Radio
Deluxe and they should get frequency and mode information from
PowerSDR. It is certainly do-able for those who really desire it.

As an aside to this, I'd like to use the HRD Logbook with my F5K, without
having to run HRD itself. The latter is a great application, but I really
don't use any of the facilities - I just want to run the logbook on its own,
communicating with PSDR to obtain the frequency data. Can this be done?
