Thanks Neal, I already have each piece of equipment with its own ground cable going back to a central 'neutral bar' which goes to my earth stake with extremly overkill copper cable. Each earth strap to each piece of equipment is just flattened out RG213 braid - cheap and works great..
I do not daisy chain any earths From: Neal Campbell Sent: Friday, January 01, 2010 2:19 PM To: Anthony M Cc: Dudley Hurry ; flexradio Subject: Re: [Flexradio] Loss of TX power Ferrite every cable touching the PC, make sure that you have a single ground point and everything is grounded to that (avoid group loops which are the worst to track down, for example, you ground the radio, then the shield of an audio cable grounds the computer to the radio and the computer has a serial connection to a rotor box which grounds the computer to the rotor and the rotor is grounded to the radio) Neal Campbell Abroham Neal Software www.abrohamnealsoftware.com (540) 242 0911 Amateur Radio: K3NC Blog: http://www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/blog/ DXBase bug reports: email to ca...@dxbase.fogbugz.com Abroham Neal forums: http:/www.abrohamnealsoftware.com/community/ On Thu, Dec 31, 2009 at 10:12 PM, Anthony M <anth...@consultexcel.com.au> wrote: I have Ferrite chokes on the firewire cable (3 actually).. (50watts normally, but I look over and 0watts output).. I close PowerSDR and retry, no change. I close PowerSDR AND switch radio off for a sec then back on, and its back to normal until it happens again.. I have low SWR (less than 1:5:1) and only running 50Watts.. Very Very annoying.. _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ Message delivered to jhu...@austin.rr.com _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ Message delivered to anth...@consultexcel.com.au _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ Message delivered to nealk...@gmail.com _______________________________________________ FlexRadio Systems Mailing List FlexRadio@flex-radio.biz http://mail.flex-radio.biz/mailman/listinfo/flexradio_flex-radio.biz Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/flexradio%40flex-radio.biz/ Knowledge Base: http://kc.flex-radio.com/ Homepage: http://www.flex-radio.com/ Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
