These boxes are far cheaper than (more or less) equivalent floptop or laptop machines, and would make nice, tiny, dedicated Flex controllers. The matter turns around the two questions of (a) whether the 3250e dual core proc is capable, and (b) whether there is an easy way to bring firewire control in and out of the box without major surgery. My understanding is that the AMD Athlon 3250e with its dual core is quite a bit more capable than the atom processors usually found in miniboxes.
