I'm not an audiophile, and don't do that much phone anyway.
BUT...
I have 3 of the Dell stereo speakers that clip onto the bottom of Dell
monitors, you can pick them up on ebay for real cheap.
12 volt powered, even have a long cord with the green audio plug.
They sound good to me, I can even copy cw from the speakers.
I think the model #s are something like AS501
They sound fine to me, but then I'm half deaf in one ear and can't hear from
the other. YMMV....
