John How did you have double boot set up? You are most likely using the Win7 bootloader.
Get your Win7 dvd, put it in your dvd drive and boot your computer from it. When it comes up, click on Repair my Computer (do not click on Install!), A repair program will come up and rewrite the bootloader and likely will find the XP disk and set that up.
