As a potential Flex 5000 owner and current W7 64-bit user I must ask - have
you checked that it's the FireWire driver that's causing the BSOD?

Were I to buy a Flex 5000 then I would want to write my own code to drive
it, getting BSODs while developing code is not what I would want.

I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. It is the released version.
It can run here, but I get very often BSOD's .
