Frans, Ray,
I knew sooner or later someone on this reflector would bring up the subject
of powerline noise. I went through this about a year ago and didn't have
the faintest idea of what the source was. I asked Flex-Radio and the ARRL
and I had accumulated quite a library of photos of the various junk that
appeared on my panadapters. No one would venture a guess because, quite
frankly, no one knew what power company noise "looks like." They do know
what powerline noise "sounds" like but I could only tell them the
appearance! Anyway, I was about to give up ham radio because, as I know
you've found out, you just can't hear anything else! Now, there ain't a
lot of SDR radios in this area so I have a stream of visitors and it turns
out that one of them was a retired power company foreman. He looked at the
panadapter and then asked me to let him "hear what it sounds like." I did
and he immediately told me to call the power company and tell them that they
have a bad MOV and that it probably was on a pole not too far from me.
A call to the local farmer's co-op got me a "just a minute, I want to give
you the number of someone in engineering.'' A phone call to those people
and a few days later a huge tracked bucket vehicle arrived from headquarters
70 miles away because the pole in question is on my property and is down a
very steep ravine. But they quickly fixed it. I really can't complain.
Once they understood the nature of the problem they promptly took care of
it. Maybe I'm just lucky. If you want, I would be happy to email photos
of typical noise so you can compare it to your specific problem. The stuff
does change in appearance with time and it is definitely dynamic with regard
to frequency!

can u find the noise? will the power company fix it?
Here in the states its illegal for the power company to interfere with
radios.
More often than not the power company does not know or is unable to find
the problem.
Usually if the ham can find the pole with a bad insulator or whatever
they are happy to fix it. as its going to save them from an outage sooner
or later..

I am waiting for the delivery of my FlexRadio 3000. Having problems with
powerline noise for the last 50 years, sometimes 5/9 on the scale. I
wonder if the Flexradio can reduce this noise, maybe there some one who
has the same problem.
