I'm using a 3000 on a single deep cycle battery at 12V. I put mine on a timer and trickle charger. So that it charges when I'm not at home. I use an auto-charger that cuts off when the battery is charged. I do not leave it on all the time because I found that the charger puts out enough of a signal as to interfere with the 3000 receiver.
