Although a StarTech card with a Lucent chip is now being recommended, the almost universal recommendation for video editing (shown by a Google search) is the ADS Pyro (with a TI chip). There does not seem to be a PCIe version, which is what I would prefer.
There does seem to be a PCIe version of the ADS Pyro after all -- and with the TI chip: Model# is API-316.
Not at NewEgg. If you look for this at Amazon, watch out: it says it's available from buy.com, but the link takes you to the API-315, which is the PCI version. Buy.com does have the PCIe version, but you have to enter the model number explicitly.
